A Message from Pastor Don
For those of you who don't remember, Pastor Don Elbourne is the pastor of Lakeshore Baptist Church. Unfortunately (for us/good for him), the week we served, he was away for a conference. Anyways, he just recently sent out this email and I wanted to pass it along to all of you:
On behalf of Lakeshore Baptist Church and our community, I pray that you have a joy filled Christ exalting holiday season.
We continue to move forward in the relief, recovery, and rebuilding efforts. A good number of people in Lakeshore will celebrate Christmas in a new home this year, but hundred's more will awake Christmas morning in a camper. One grandmother told me this week that she asked her 10 year old grandson what he wanted for Christmas. He said, "All I want is my house back." If volunteer teams continue to flood into our community, Lord willing, he will see his dream some time in 2007. Humble requests like this keep me pushing forward.
We covet your prayer and ask that God continue to support us with his sustaining grace. As Lakeshore Baptist Church ministers to her storm ravaged community, we depend on God's mighty hand working all things to his glory through the gracious generosity of his people.
Please visit our recently re-designed web site http://rebuildlakeshore.com/ for information, news, and frequent updates on the progress. Please feel free to forward this web address to others who may be interested in rebuilding Lakeshore to the glory of God.
May the Lord richly bless you with a heart that leans hard upon his grace.
